We miss Carroll if we set the team up like we did today.
If we play the same as we did at the begging of the season with these front two we don't miss Carroll.
I don't remember a single ball that salvo or Valencia could run onto today.

Carroll at his best which he mostly was before the latest injury, bullies and dominates most defences esp at home v the weaker sides. Also works v hard defensively so he could and prob would have made a difference today imho.

As thry're good in the air, id say carroll wouldnt have been effective today either. But i think normally hed be a great option from the bench

We definitely missed the Carroll alternative option. Our defensive work in the air though was really sloppy. Considering we had Reid, Tomkins and Kouyote in the box there was really no excuse for looking so vulnerable.

Today's performance is so typical of the WHU I have known down the years. Palace scored three set piece goals and were much the more threatening team in the first half.
We played without heart, the touch of most of our players was woeful and we seemed to lack ideas despite having the lions share of possession. Song was well outmatched in midfield by Jedinack who ran the show for Palace. That the almost anonymous Downing was awarded WHU MoM by today's sponsors brought a gasp of cynical disbelief from all of us.
I hope that on Wednesday night we at least look like we are up for the game. Our bench is bereft of any strength so we are relying this existing eleven to stay fit. Just a word on Carroll and Cole because we really missed their areal defensive work today.
